The Sardine Festival ,
The summer activities of the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Kalamaria, start every year with the traditional legislated Sardine Festival organized by the fishermen of N.Krini. The festival is on the 25th of July, saint Paraskevi's eve, at 9p.m. at the "Olof Palme" park, and it involves plenty of barbecued sardine, plenty of wine and music by a folk band. This festival is traditionally related to Orthodoxy and Saint Paraskevi's Fair and also is a customary meeting of the fishermen of the area. It is organized by the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Kalamaria in cooperation with the piscatory association and fish boat owners of Nea Krini.
